About Us

Haydens Gymnastics & Cheer Academy (HIGA) has been training Champions for Life in the sport of gymnastics and cheerleading since 1994. A Champion for Life is someone who is positive, caring and focuses on the bigger picture. Here at HIGA we strive to be and to teach just that. You might be surprised that gymnastics is one of the most comprehensive lifestyle exercise programs. It is an excellent vehicle in which anyone can develop the concepts of discipline and commitment, while expanding their physical potential. Our coaches and staff help students develop an (I Can) attitude through lessons that teach not only physical, but also mental flexibility. All of our programs are developed with overall well-being in mind. Come in, discover new friends, and see how much we have to offer you and your child.

Dan Hayden competed in the sport of gymnastics for 22 years.  He has traveled to over 10 countries representing the United States at various international meets.   Dan Hayden won National Championship titles in both NCAA and USA competition, winning the all-around gold medals in still rings, high bar, and parallel bars at the 1988 McDonalds Championships of the USA. He competed in the 1987 World Championships and earned a spot on the 1985 World Team. Dan was also on the Junior Olympic team for six years and represented the US Team at international competition for over four years. He was an Olympic alternate in 1984.

Dan Hayden's dream of opening a gymnastics and cheerleading gym came true in September of 1994.  Dan had visited many gyms throughout the United States and abroad and with that knowledge a gym was designed to teach others the sport of gymnastics.

In the many years since HIGA has been opened, our athletes have experienced tremendous success.  Our teams are highly competitive with the top gyms in the Southeast.  Our gymnastics and cheerleading teams have achieved national recognition both, individually and collectively.  We are proud to have one of the few clubs that offers an outstanding boys and girls team program as well as active cheerleading, recreational, and preschool programs.  In 2012 Haydens introduced the Excel program which  enables larger numbers of girls to continue to compete in the sport of gymnstics through their high school years without the pressure and extended hours required for the girls Developmental gymnastics.  Please take the time to visit all the other exciting classes that are offered here at HIGA!

In 2014 Robert and Loretta Giancroce became partners with Dan Hayden in an effort to take HIGA to the next level!  Major facilities renovations have been completed along with equipment upgrades.

Haydens has expanded and added two additional facilities which now gives us close to 35,000 square feet!   Haydens Junior Gym has been opened and accommodates our Gym & Learn program and our recreational classes for ages 18 months through 6 years of age.  The new gym has state of the art equipment and is scaled down in size for smaller children.

We also now have a building for our "applied gymnastics" or Gymnastics "Raw" program.  It has a raised pit, bars and a warped wall! Our Ninja course is here- check it out!
