HAYDENS DOJANG - Classes scheduled to start June 13, 2016

Welcome to Haydens Dojang (a training hall.)  We train in a traditional Korean martial art known as Tang Soo Do.  Tang Soo Do is the original name used prior to the more popular Tae Kwon Do.  Although very similar, Tang Soo Do does not emphasize training for competition.  The purpose for training in Tang Soo Do is for self-defense, and better health.

Our dojang offers self-defense classes to men, women and children of all ages. The history and tradition of this art form dates back more than two thousand years.

The most fulfilling part of our dojang is the fact that we are able to help different people develop their mental and physical skill sets as well as their overall health. Through the martial arts training that we offer, people can enhance their defensive skill  as well as their mental alertness - and this is something that is very inspiring to us.

What is Tang Soo Do?

Tang Soo Do is traditional Korean Martial Art, and translated means "the art of open hand and foot self defense". It was developed more than two thousand years ago, and is art-rich with tradition and history.

Tang Soo Do training allows those who train the ability to achieve control and finesse via the mind as well as the physical. Training helps develop discipline as well as self-confidence and a sense of respect, both for one's self, as well as for others.

Our training focuses on the 5 Codes of Tang Soo Do that include:
                • Loyalty to country
                • Obedience to parents
                • Honor friendship
                • No retreat in battle
                • In fighting, choose with sense and honor

7 Tenants of Tang Soo Do:
                • Integrity
                • Concentration
                • Respect and Obedience
                • Self Control
                • Perseverance
                • Humility
                • Indominable Spirit
